Face Book

Some of my friends have told me that I should join face book. But I just haven't decided. I think it would be fun but at the same time I think it would be dumb and stupid. What if a person that you don't like wants you to become friends with you? I possibly can't just say no! That would be extremely rude. I have no idea what I should do. I need help!!!
